This course is designed for new and developing shooters who want a strong foundation in safe handgun handling and basic marksmanship. Students (ages 12+) will learn the essential skills needed to confidently and responsibly operate a handgun in a controlled range environment.
Equipment: Students may bring their own handgun, or rentals are available. There is no ammo minimum, nor are students required to shoot. Eye and ear protection required on the firing range (available on site).

Training includes an examination covering subjects in which the individual must have training. All candidates must complete a four hour basic course including one (1) hour each of:
- Orientation.
- Legal powers and limitations of a security guard/officer.
